I thought that the end of the movie was extremely intriguing, it leaves you wondering yet also slightly confused. It is a bit interesting that even after killing Kurtz, his "minions" did absolutely nothing. It makes me wonder if they were only under that influence when he was around. I did like the ending because I am quite a sucker for "happy" endings. It wasn't so much a happy ending as it was a relief that Captain Willard made it out alive. I thought the movie depicted the "fog" of war as best as it could without directly experiencing it. Some scenes were not easy to watch but really made me understand the horrors of wars that can get out of control. That also poses the question if war can be controlled at all? I think it can't. I thought the movie was decent, it lacked slightly in plot but replaced that with great cinematic art. I think the most heroic characters were all the ones on the boat with Captain Willard, they had no idea what they were doing but they were ready to dive in headfirst.

I liked the ending of the movie. The scene where the cow and Kurtz were being killed at same time was impactful. It made Kurtz seem like a sacrifice or just another person killed in the process, in order to benefit those at the "top of the food chain" or those at the top. It was hard to see Kurtz killed, especially after hearing him say that Willard was an errand boy. After that, I wasn't sure Willard would kill Kurtz. He didn't seem all that insane, especially compared to all the absurd things going on in the movie. Willard was an interesting character. He was an unlikable especially after he killed that family just to continue his mission, but the movie was set up so you felt that he did the right thing for killing Kurtz. The fact that the movie had little plot makes it boring as a movie, but the lack of plot helps you think about the message that the writer really wanted to convey with the film.

I believe that overall this was a good movie. I enjoyed the absurd scenes, such as the US army surfing in a combat zone; or when they were filming a movie in a hotspot of the war zone. I enjoyed the ending and how the mission was completed. But I would have liked to see how the captains behavior was changed after his experiences.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie as a whole. I thought that the absurd scenes added to the curiosity of the movie which kept me engaged. Something that threw me off at the end was the lack of resolution. We see Kurtz killed and Captain Willard manages to escape alive, but we never really get to know what happens after that. There is nothing that tells us Willard made it back alive or what happens to him when he gets home. Although, maybe that's the point. There is no resolution to the absurdity of war in our minds. At the beginning of this movie, I will admit it was hard to watch as it wasn't very engaging or interesting, but by the second day of viewing I did not find it difficult to watch. There is no hook at the beginning to draw the viewer in so I'm sure it has discouraged many from watching the whole film. Another good thing about the movie as many absurdities begin to occur is that it forces the viewer to reflect on what is happening and realize that those things probably could happen. For example, the surfing and beach party seemed like a huge joke when in reality that could have happened since the soldiers are people too and have activities that they would miss during war. As for the question of who was bad and who was good, I believe that everyone in the movie is both. During war, one is not acting as they would normally and they are forced to take actions that they would normally hesitate to take. This goes along with the fog of war and that war is unpredictable.

Overall Mr. Yip this was a great movie but if it were my first time seeing it I would have been confused. I know every movie isn't a perfect movie and can get confusing but for those who have never seen this movie for the first time were very confused. I liked the ending. Not only did he proceed and kill this insane man but it leaves you kind of on the edge of your seat with the question "did he call in the airstrike?" I liked that about the ending because you don't know if he called it in or not. I think Willard called in the airstrike. Overall again it was a good movie but a little confusing for the people seeing it for the first time.

Overall I enjoyed the movie. Quite often I find that I am bored watching movies with simple repetitive plots. “Apocalypse Now” had a deep complex plot that required some brain power to understand which was enjoyable for me. I also enjoyed the open ending. It made you really think about what could’ve happened. I found that all the characters were morally grey-they weren’t particularly heroic or villainous, which added a whole new level of depth to the movie. This is a good movie to show people the complexity of the human condition and how there really is no “good” or “evil”- it is based purely on outside perspective of how a person is portrayed.

Overall I enjoyed the movie and being able to see what is happening to our people mentally and physically. In the beginning I was very confused on why do we have Americans that are killing innocent civilians. Then I began to understand that they have the mentality of kill them first before they have time to thing about killing you. That’s my theory of what a man is thinking when they see civilians and as already lost so many men to a country.

I believe that overall this was a very good movie. There were many "monsters" other than Kurtz. I even believe Willard was one. The movie was confusing a times. maybe if i saw it more than once I would understand better. There were many absurd scenes throughout the movie. For example where kill monger placed the boat was chosen based on the surf. Also was the beginning of the movie the end? I believe Willard did call the airstrike. This movie shows us that if we don't try and fix the world this will be us and some of us have reached this state.
