The three monotheistic faiths (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) all derived originally in the Middle East from a common person - Abraham. As a result they share many common characteristics, particularly their acceptance of one God. However, recent world events have focused much attention on these religions because of the many conflicts among them. With this attention, there have been many critics and supporters vocalizing their stance on the various religions. Some people have called for toleration of all religions everywhere, while others claim this is not possible as long as religions believe they teach the truth. In today's world, can these three monotheistic faiths co-exist peacefully? BE SURE TO GIVE REASONS FOR YOUR POSITION AND CITE EVIDENCE FROM YOUR DOCUMENTS!

The fall of Rome has been discussed and analyzed for a long time. Many reasons have been offered for its decline. Some believe the loss of its value system turned Rome away from what made it great and Romans became self-serving and greedy. Do you agree this was the main cause of its decline and fall? Explain why.

Please post by Wednesday, November 14. Drawings like the one above in Chauvet were created thousands of years ago. The people who produced them had to undergo difficult conditions to draw them. In spite of the challenges, there are many caves throughout Europe with these masterpieces of the ancient world. Today, we refer to these paintings as "cave art." However the term itself makes the paintings seem inferior. It is as if the quality of compositions are lower than the quality of the art of Picasso or Leonardo Da Vinci. Should the modifier "cave" be removed? Should we refer to these drawings simply as art on the same par as the art of the Classical Age, the Renaissance, or even the modern period. Explain your reasoning and address what makes something art.
